The Kindertransport was the informal name of a series of rescue efforts which brought thousands of refugee Jewish children to Great Britain from Nazi Germany and its annexed territories between 1938 and 1940. Children were fostered in families other than their own and many were never reunited with their parents. Often these children were the only members of their families who survived the Holocaust. 2018 marks the 80th anniversary of the Kindertransport, yet many have forgotten, or know very little about this part of Holocaust history.
The Holocaust Memorial Museum of San Antonio is proud to announce My Heart in a Suitcase, presented by ArtsPower, is coming to San Antonio on April 4th at Temple Beth-El at 7pm. This gripping and poignant production is based on the true story of Kindertransport survivor Anne Lehmann Fox and her family’s decision to send her on the Kindertransport. This play is a tribute to the strength of the human spirit and the enduring power of a family’s love.
