Golda Solitar-Scharff's Survival

For the 2022 Texas Holocaust Remembrance Week, the HMMSA is leading a community-wide effort to offer twenty special topic presentations. The focus of the lectures will be on instilling in the students, educators, and general audience Elie Wiesel’s message that “the opposite of love is not hate, it’s indifference.”

Join Sharon Scharff Greenwald, HMMSA Docent & Child of Survivors for a presentation entitled: Gold Solitar-Scharff's Survival Experience

"Golda Solitair-Scharff grew up as a middle child in a well-to-do family in Sokal, Poland, near the Ukrainian border. In 1942, the Russian army invaded Poland, followed shortly by the German invasion of Poland, forever changing the course of Golda’s life. Please attend and hear when Golda’s daughter describes how her mother escaped and hid from the Nazis until her liberation."
