For the 2022 Texas Holocaust Remembrance Week, the HMMSA is leading a community-wide effort to offer twenty special topic presentations. The focus of the lectures will be on instilling in the students, educators, and general audience Elie Wiesel’s message that “the opposite of love is not hate, it’s indifference.”
Join Dr. Alberto Giordano from the Texas State University for a presentation entitled: Selling Genocide, Witnessing Genocide: The Holocaust.
"This presentation focuses on how maps, images, posters, and films have been used as tools for propaganda by the Nazi perpetrators of the Holocaust and as witness to genocide by its victims. To introduce the topic, we will discuss the stages of genocide and address the question of why people commit genocide and how genocide can be prevented."
