The Story of the Czech Scrolls

For the 2022 Texas Holocaust Remembrance Week, the HMMSA is leading a community-wide effort to offer twenty special topic presentations. The focus of the lectures will be on instilling in the students, educators, and general audience Elie Wiesel’s message that “the opposite of love is not hate, it’s indifference.”

Join Lois Roman from the Memorial Scrolls Trust for a presentation entitled: The Story of the Czech Scrolls

"The Memorial Scrolls Trust in London cares for 1564 Torah scrolls that represent the lost Jewish communities of Bohemia and Moravia. The scrolls arrived in London in 1964, after being stored for more than 20 years in the former Michle Synagogue in Prague. Please attend and learn the history of the Memorial Scrolls and how they are now being used to commemorate the Holocaust."
